The theme of this session is "developing the digital economy to promote openness and sharing - to build a community of Shared future in cyberspace". The general assembly has set up 20 sub-bbs, such as sharing economy, artificial intelligence, Internet precise poverty alleviation, Internet protection of minors and international cooperation. Robin li, baidu's chairman and chief executive, said in a speech at the conference that the mobile Internet demographic dividend was over and that artificial intelligence would be the new growth driver.

"Ai has three growth drivers," li said. "the first is that new algorithms are emerging. The second is that the cost of computing is falling, and today's computing power has reached the tipping point, which can make a lot of artificial intelligence actually available. The number of Internet users in China is still huge and the data is growing at a high rate.
 
Li also cited the automobile industry as an example, indicating that ai has a powerful vertical integration capability, and in the years to come, artificial intelligence technology will bring great changes to the automobile industry. "From real estate to education, healthcare, logistics, energy and so on, we can think of industries that are constantly changing because of the technology of artificial intelligence," li said.

So, please read a picture first. This chart is a comparison of the growth rate of Internet users in China and the growth rate of China's GDP over the past decade. We can see that China's Internet users grew more than 50 percent a decade ago, and today it's about 6 percent. In fact, over the past four years, Internet users in China have grown at a slower pace than China's GDP. What does that mean? That means the Internet's demographic dividend is gone. So last year I was here saying, "wireless (mobile) Internet is over," and most people disagree, and many people say, it's not over, it's just into the second half. This year, I saw that the "second half" people started to talk about artificial intelligence, so my next slide will also tell you about artificial intelligence.
 
The netizen dividend is gone, but the impetus of growth is still. What is the motivation? It's artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence today is in a very early stage of development, much like the growth of China's Internet a decade ago. For the growth of China's Internet more than ten years ago, I've talked about a point, when its growth momentum has three, first, the high-speed growth of the number of Internet users, we have just seen initially have growth of 50% a year. Second, the Internet time increasing, the past everyone everyone on the Internet for a few minutes each day, into more than ten minutes later, there may be several hours now, everyone on the Internet of time also is constantly increasing. Third, there is an increasing amount of information online. So the Chinese Internet, including the world of the Internet, its growth has three: the increase of the number of Internet users, Internet time increases, and the increase of the amount of information on the net, these have been pushing the Internet constantly, rapid prosperity.
 
Just now you see, demographic dividend not, after we found technology dividend, innovation that is represented by artificial intelligence, will in future decades constantly promote the development of the digital economy. Specifically, there are three growth drivers, driving forces. The first is the algorithm. The algorithm of artificial intelligence, especially machine learning, has been developing rapidly in the past few years, with various innovations, deep learning, DNN, RNN, CNN and GAN... New inventions are constantly being created.
 
The second one is computing power, computing power. Today, computing costs are falling and servers are becoming more powerful. In the past, we thought artificial intelligence was not practical because it would use too much power, and people would think it would be financially impossible. But it becomes available.
 
Third, data. The generation of data still in with a very high speed in development, especially for the Chinese Internet, it has a very unique place, 750 million Internet users of all said the same language, are all the same culture, abide by the laws of the same, all such a big crowd, such a big market, so big of a data set, and constantly produce new data, it will further promote the algorithm of continuous innovation, and to calculate the force to ask for updates.
 
These three dynamics are now growing fast, so I'm still very optimistic. In the future, the main driving force of China's digital economy will be artificial intelligence, and artificial intelligence will move forward at a very fast pace.
 
Artificial intelligence and a, where the Internet is not the same as in the past, is that it has the characteristic of strong vertical integration, or use the theme of the meeting, we is the fate of the cyberspace community. In the past, Internet companies were mostly software-oriented, but today, software, hardware, and services have to be combined to make them work.
